About us

House of Brunswick is an independent vintage and antique homeware shop based in Gloucestershire.

We source one-off pieces from across the UK and Europe, from French brocantes and flea markets to antique fairs, dealers and the occasional unexpected find. The aim is simple: to find interesting things with character, history and a bit of personality.

Hi, I’m Felicia

I started House of Brunswick in 2021, although really it came from years of filling our own home with old things, odd things and things that were far too good to leave behind.

I source every piece myself and there is no strict formula for what makes it into a collection. I am drawn to beautiful old pottery, studio ceramics, glassware, kitchenalia, artwork, brass and the slightly strange pieces that are difficult to categorise.

I have always liked homes that feel collected over time rather than styled all at once, and that is very much the idea behind House of Brunswick too.

Shop the Collection
  • Buy old, buy well

Choosing vintage keeps good things in use and gives existing pieces another life.

  •  Homes should feel personal

The things you collect, the things you love and the pieces people ask you about are what make a home interesting. The best rooms tend to come together slowly.

  •  Not everything has to be serious

We like the odd, funny and slightly unexpected things too. Sometimes the best piece is the one that simply makes you smile.

The hunt is half the fun

I never want sourcing to become too formulaic. I have my favourite materials, makers and periods, but I’m just as interested in the things I’ve never seen before.

One goal I have always set for sourcing is thinking about what I call 'working homes'. Yes, I absolutely ADORE the beautiful things that you can admire from afar but being honest, 90% of House of Brunswick is something I see fitting into a busy family home like our own.

Things to use, move around, fill, light, serve from, knock into occasionally and keep for years.

Why the shell?

Our shell logo comes from the way markers of the Camino de Santiago, which my husband and I walked in 2012.

The shell stayed with us afterwards, so when House of Brunswick came along it felt natural that it became part of the business too.

A little symbol of finding your way, discovering things as you go and bringing a few good stories home with you.
