This is such a good piece of old French packaging. A tall, faceted glass jar with its original illustrated label for Cerises à l’Eau de Vie, made for cherries preserved in eau-de-vie, and finished with a screw-top metal lid.
The label is the real star here, with its bold early 20th-century style graphics and wonderful blue, orange and cream colours. It would have originally held liqueur cherries, but now makes a brilliant decorative kitchen jar or display piece.
