A proper old French confit pot with a warm terracotta body and loose ochre glazing sweeping around the sides. The glaze is wonderfully irregular, with areas of exposed clay.
Traditionally, confit pots were used in French kitchens for preserving meat beneath a layer of fat, so they were made to be practical, sturdy and repeatedly used.
This one would look great with a few branches, but I also like it completely empty.
