A brilliantly fun pair of vintage Japanese egg cups, each shaped like a little character in smart dress. One wears a red tie with blue sleeves, the other a red bow tie with green sleeves, complete with tiny painted hands and shoes.
They are a proper bit of vintage kitsch, and make a cheerful addition to a breakfast table or collection of novelty ceramics. Both are marked Japan to the base.
I believe these would have originally come with two ceramic eggs that were salt and pepper shakers, but we only have the egg cups.Â
