One for the old advertising collectors. This tall French lithographed tin was made for Pastilles Chausson, with an ornate black and red design that still has loads of impact despite its wonderfully worn surface.
Comparable examples are dated to the early 20th century and were produced as large 1kg tins for Pastilles Chausson.
The scratches, fading and areas of oxidation only make this one better in my opinion, giving it the sort of patina you simply cannot fake.
A brilliant piece of antique French kitchen advertising.
